Cornmeal & Hot Buttered Rum – March 3rd – The Ogden Theatre

Hot Buttered Rum and Cornmeal kicked off their co-headlining tour at The Ogden Theatre in Denver last Saturday night.  Band and fans alike were all smiles as Hot Buttered Rum got things started with an upbeat 90 minute set. Cornmeal followed with a set that flowed perfectly, and featured several songs that stretched beyond the ten minute mark, including a nearly twenty minute “Black Smoke Rising.”  The evening was capped with a thirty minute “clusterpluck” featuring all members of both bands.  One of the evening’s highlights was a lengthy take on The Rolling Stones “Sympathy For The Devil,” which closed out the show and set the tone for what’s sure to be a memorable tour.
