FREE SHOW Featuring Members of The New Mastersounds, Kinetix & Fox Street Allstars

Estimated read time 1 min read

On Thursday May 12th there is a free show going down at Cervantes Other Side featuring Boulder’s Whiskey Blanket and the exceptional British singer Rodina backed by the all-star band of Joe Tatton (The New Mastersounds) on keys, Josh Fariman (Kinetix) on bass and Eric Low (Fox Street Allstars) on drums.

It should be an interesting bill as Whiskey Blanket is a Boulder band that features an eclectic concoction of lush instrumentation, melodic intricacies, provocative lyricism, and heavy hitting drum beats with an analogue twist, while Rodina leans more toward a jazzy chill-out sort of vibe that will likely get funked up a bit by her band for the night.

Please note that is a free show for those 21 and over,  under 21 will be $6 at the door.

Music has always been a part of my life. It probably all started listening to old Grateful Dead, Peter Paul & Mary, and Simon & Garfunkel records that my parents had, but it wasn't long before they were taking me to concerts like Starship, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Huey Lewis & The News. I got the bug to write about music after reviewing an Eric Clapton concert for a creative writing project in high school but didn't really take it up seriously until 2002. Since then I have published countless articles in The Marquee Magazine and done some work for Jambase.com, SPIN Magazine, and various other outlets. I started Listen Up Denver! as a way to share the music information that is constantly spilling out of my head with people who care. Please enjoy!
