This year Campout for the Cause will be supporting ALL HANDS VOLUNTEERS.

Campout for the Cause founder Scotty Stoughton traveled to Leogane Haiti to Volunteer for ALL HANDS last May and saw first hand where the donations were put to work.  ALL HANDS is currently on the ground in Japan accessing the situation and identifying volunteer opportunities there.

Why ALL HANDS?  ”I was totally impressed by the large numbers of volunteers from all around the world coming together for a common cause.  Young and old and from all corners of the globe and walks of life, these people volunteer their time to live to very primitive conditions, work 6 days a week for 8 hours a day, have very minimal comforts but give 100% to those who are in need.  ALL HANDS quite simple gets things done on teh ground with almost no bureaucracy and red tape.  Very touching, very real, very positive!” – Scotty

ALL HANDS VOLUNTEERS, will be one of the organizations we’ll be supporting for our international donation.  ALL HANDS is a US-based, 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides hands-on assistance to survivors of natural disasters around the world, with maximum impact and minimum bureaucracy. By supporting volunteers with housing, meals, tools, and organized work at no charge we are able to provide free and effective response services to communities in need. Our programs are directed by the needs of each community in which we work, ensuring a timely, relevant, and culturally sensitive response.

Music has always been a part of my life. It probably all started listening to old Grateful Dead, Peter Paul & Mary, and Simon & Garfunkel records that my parents had, but it wasn't long before they were taking me to concerts like Starship, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Huey Lewis & The News. I got the bug to write about music after reviewing an Eric Clapton concert for a creative writing project in high school but didn't really take it up seriously until 2002. Since then I have published countless articles in The Marquee Magazine and done some work for Jambase.com, SPIN Magazine, and various other outlets. I started Listen Up Denver! as a way to share the music information that is constantly spilling out of my head with people who care. Please enjoy!
