Why You Should Go: Fusing elements of jazz and world music, The Matt Skellenger Group creates a rhythmically rich and lushly melodic sound. Led by electric bassist Matt Skellenger, this unique group features Ron Miles on Trumpet, Dave Miller on Drumset, Electronics, Tabla and Udu,  Andy Skellenger on Cajon, Tabla and Udu, Glenn Taylor on Pedal Steel Guitar, and Adam Bartczak on Trombone.

The newest album from the group, The Owls Are Not What They Seem, explores themes of duality and the number 2 with doubled melodies, a tabla duet, and a few of the songs presented as couplets. The Owls Are Not What They Seem comes from a quote from the 90′s TV Show Twin Peaks and the group will be playing music from the 2009 release Parentheticals as well as brand new music from the new record.
