In very sad news this morning, we have learned that legendary promoter Barry Fey has passed away at the age of 73.  While details are scarce at this point, Fey was recently in the hospital for surgery and while personal posts on his Facebook page showed he was in pain and struggling with recovery, nothing this dire was alluded to.  In fact, an April 24th post noted “Barry is now home and doing well.”

Fey released a book detailing his life in the gritty business of Rock & Roll recently and was very busy promoting it over the last year or two.  The book details his rise to prominence in the Denver scene, discusses being the first person to book Led Zeppelin in the United States, and chronicles the early days of the now legendary Red Rocks Summer Concert Series.  Fey was a legend in the business of Rock & Roll and will truly be missed.

R.I.P. Barry Fey
