Tickets Still Available for Dr. John & Mavis Staples Tonight!

One of shows of the summer is happening tonight at Denver’s Botanic Gardens and there are still tickets available!!! New Orleans legend Dr. John and Gospel Legend Mavis Staples will share a stellar bill in the idyllic setting that the Gardens provides. You’ll hear everything from tripped out psychedelic New Orleans piano to gut wrenching Gospel while relaxing in the lush grass.

Tickets are $61 and if the price scares you away, remember that you can bring in all your own food and refreshments, alcoholic or otherwise, so you don’t have to spend a penny at the show. Contrast that with a $25 dollar ticket to a show at The Fillmore (+ $12-$15 in charges) and a $10 beer or two, and you are pretty quickly surpassing the price tag of this show.

It probably all started listening to old Grateful Dead, Peter Paul & Mary, and Simon & Garfunkel records that my parents had, but it wasn't long before they were taking me to concerts like Starship, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Huey Lewis & The News.
