Kings Of Leon Cancel Remaining US Tour Dates – Including Red Rocks Shows

Estimated read time 1 min read

It has come to our attention that Kings of Leon have just announced that they are cancelling the remaining dates of their US Tour including their scheduled shows at Red Rocks on August 31st and September 1st.  It has also been reported that the band will not reschedule the dates due to other touring commitments.  This is the second series of dates that the band has cancelled this year.

“We are so sorry to say Kings of Leon are canceling their entire US tour due to Caleb Followill suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion,” the band, which includes singer, Caleb, his brothers Jared (bass) and Michael (drums) and cousin Cameron (lead guitar), said in a statement.  The announcement comes on the heels of the band cutting a show in Texas short when lead singer Caleb Followhill walked off-stage after he told the crowd: “I’m going to go backstage and vomit, drink a beer, and then come back out and play three more songs.”  Needless to say, he didn’t return.

While information is still scarce, it can be assumed that refunds for Red Rocks ticket holders will be issued at point of purchase.

Music has always been a part of my life. It probably all started listening to old Grateful Dead, Peter Paul & Mary, and Simon & Garfunkel records that my parents had, but it wasn't long before they were taking me to concerts like Starship, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Huey Lewis & The News. I got the bug to write about music after reviewing an Eric Clapton concert for a creative writing project in high school but didn't really take it up seriously until 2002. Since then I have published countless articles in The Marquee Magazine and done some work for Jambase.com, SPIN Magazine, and various other outlets. I started Listen Up Denver! as a way to share the music information that is constantly spilling out of my head with people who care. Please enjoy!
