A summer tradition in Denver continues as BrewGrass and Blues & Brews return to the 1200 block of S. Pearl Street. These festivals offer a mix of great local and national live music acts, and something else Coloradans are rather proud of – a wonderful selection of craft beers from 14 local breweries.

BrewGrass, held on June 11, offers a diverse mix of locally and nationally recognized bluegrass and Americana acts including Jeff Scroggins and Colorado, Front Country and the L’il Smokies. The day will be capped off with a set by Denver’s Yawpers, who No Depression call “Speaker-rattlin’, pound-the-steering-wheel-and-hit-the-gas good.”

On August 13, Blues and Brews returns, featuring New Orleans-based Eric Lindell, who USA Today says is “pumping soul into funk, blues and roots-rock.” Big Bill Morganfield (son of Muddy Waters) w/ Deltasonics and Buddy Whittington highlight a lineup of artists covering a wide range of blues styles and traditions.

Tickets for these Denver summertime favorites are available in advance for $7.50, or $10.00 at the gate, day of show.

Event details and full music lineups are listed below. Thank you for supporting live music with Swallow Hill Music and the South Pearl Street Merchants Association!

Nate Todd

Nate Todd was born on the central plains of Nebraska, but grew up on the high plains of the Texas panhandle. With not much to do in either place, music was his constant companion. His parents dubbed the first two albums he ever owned onto a tape for him. Side A was Bert and Ernie’s Sing Along. Side B was Sgt. Peppers. His lifelong love affair with music started early as he practically grew up in a Rock & Roll band, with his father and uncle often taking him out on the road or into the studio with them. Nate began performing live at sixteen and hasn’t looked back, having played in numerous bands from L.A. to Austin. At the age of twenty he was bitten by the writing bug, and upon moving to Denver decided to pursue a degree from Metropolitan State University where he recently graduated with a B.A. in English and a minor in Cinema Studies.
