“Rage Rocks” became the moniker last Wednesday as Prophets of Rage took Red Rocks Amphitheater by storm. The Prophets of Rage are a super-group made up of the core 3 players of Rage Against the Machine; Tom Morrello on guitar, Tim Commerford on bass, and Brad Wilk on drums, also featuring Chuck D & DJ Lord of Public Enemy, and B Real of Cypress Hill. This politically charged band of anarchists brought their message of revolution to The Rocks at the same time as a presidential forum was airing on national TV to showcase the choices this election year. Be it coincidence or fate that these events over lapped, it couldn’t have been a better setup for this spectacle. The band played to the rage of America’s disenfranchised voter which was embodied in the high energy fist-pumping audience. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen this kind pure energy and stage presents at a concert, all I can hope is that Prophets of Rage keep it going cause I want more.
