The Rumor Mill: Phish at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park???

Estimated read time 1 min read

With the announcement this morning that AEG has cancelled the Mile High Music Festival for this summer, a new rumor has begun to take shape.

Several sources have muttered about Phish playing a three night stand at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in late summer, Labor Day Weekend maybe?

This makes good sense, because with a Phish run there is a guaranteed fanbase and AEG doesn’t have to go out on a limb and hope to sell enough tickets to cover the massive costs of a festival.  The stadium, where the shows may take place, holds upwards of 25,000 for concerts and there is also some speculation that camping may be allowed on the outer fields.

More on this story as it develops . . .

Music has always been a part of my life. It probably all started listening to old Grateful Dead, Peter Paul & Mary, and Simon & Garfunkel records that my parents had, but it wasn't long before they were taking me to concerts like Starship, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Huey Lewis & The News. I got the bug to write about music after reviewing an Eric Clapton concert for a creative writing project in high school but didn't really take it up seriously until 2002. Since then I have published countless articles in The Marquee Magazine and done some work for Jambase.com, SPIN Magazine, and various other outlets. I started Listen Up Denver! as a way to share the music information that is constantly spilling out of my head with people who care. Please enjoy!
