AEG Live and Icelantic Skis have just announced the first ever wintertime concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.  The show, which will feature Atmosphere, Common and many more, will take place on Friday January 27th in conjunction with the Ski industry’s annual tradeshow, the SIA Snow Show.

The idea of cold weather outdoor concerts has been taking off in recent years with most of the ski resorts staging concerts to mark the beginning or end of the season, and even bands like moe. and String Cheese Incident performing outdoors in the midst of winter.  While many of these shows take place during the day, it’s just a matter of being prepared for the elements.  As AEG Live President and CEO Chuck Morris said during the press conference: “I’ve had this idea for a long time. People will go to Broncos games — I remember them seeing the Green Bay Packers in the middle of a blizzard.”  He’s got a point.  At least Atmostphere and Common should get people dancing, not sure we can say the same for Tebow and The Broncos.
