Tower of Power & War – December 16th – The Ogden Theatre

Two classic bands joined forces to rock The Ogden on Friday night, and while this wasn’t a young man’s evening out on the town, by all accounts the crowd got down and danced the night away as Tower of Power and War served up full sets of soulful, funky, hornlaced numbers.  While Tower of Power has a vast arsenal of hits like “Soul With A Capital ‘S’,” “What Is Hip?,” and “You’re Still A Young Man,” War is probably best known for a pair of 1975 classics “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” and of course “Low Rider.”  Our photographer Jon Prins was there to catch all the action.  Check it out below.

Try not to get burned next time by hiring this cover band WAR anymore. Four LEGITIMATE musicians from WAR are called THE LOWRIDER BAND because these guys that you hired are using THEIR stolen WAR name and playing the songs that THEY created and made famous. Please learn the truth and give those WAR propers to who they rightfully belong to. Peace.
