Estimated read time 6 min read

The internets were buzzing last week when Rock & Roll Bluesman Jack White was rumored to be playing a secret show somewhere in Denver. The word finally came down and Facebook exploded giving fans only 15 minutes to get over to a service station somewhere on West Colfax for the impromptu performance. While only a few hundred folks made it out to that show, Red Rocks was packed on Wednesday evening when the pale skinned and heavy hearted Bluesman took the stage with an all female backing band.

Bassnectar’s set on Friday started with a voice coming over the sound system asking “Is everybody in? is everybody ready for the ceremony?” The place erupted with over nine thousand voices screaming praise while “Wildstyle Method” boomed out over the PA. To say that it was loud would be a disservice and a huge understatement. The frequencies and sounds the man is able to reach rattle your bones from the inside, in the best possible way.

Tokimonsta & Deadelus – May 12th – Summit Music Hall

Estimated read time 4 min read

Despite a relatively thin crowd, Tokimonsta laid a down a set that was far from the Down-Tempo, laid back soundscapes that she is known for. She dropped heavy bass lines that vibrated your organs and blended them with vocal samples from hip hop icons as well as the up and coming hard hitters to get the dance floor moving as she danced and smiled from her perch on the stage. Deadelus took the stage next and displayed his monster skills on the Monome as the room began to fill up.
