Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe – October 31st – The Ogden

Estimated read time 2 min read

Karl Denson brought his Tiny Universe to Denver again this Halloween and this time he funked things up a bit with a night of Disco classics that brought the costumed masses to the dance floor. With a set that touched on everything from Barry White to Blondie to the late Donna Summers, KDTU definitely went to “Funkytown” and took The Ogden with them! It wasn’t Studio 54, but it was as close as we’re gonna get here in Denver in 2012!

The Civil Wars – May 23rd – The Ogden

Estimated read time 2 min read

When The Civil Wars walked out onto the dark stage of The Ogden last week, fans erupted with enthusiasm. The duo remarked “they could not believe that this was their first show in Denver” and “the city has such great people and food.” According to Joy Williams, the only thing that was lacking was oxygen, and she was not scared to admit that she had an oxygen tank on the side of the stage waiting for her because “that’s how hard we are about to folk.” These words would hold merit throughout the entire evening.

SOJA – February 25th – The Ogden Theatre

Estimated read time 4 min read

SOJA arrived in Denver on Saturday night with a film crew in tow and ready to party as they filmed their first ever live DVD at The Ogden. With a great set list and sound, and a room full of attractive, smiling Denverites in constant motion, the video should be a thing of beauty. Warming up the crowd for the main event were Anuhea, The Movement, and Colorado’s own DubSkin. The night was packed full of a high energy blend of reggae, roots, rock, and hip-hop that had everyone in attendance dancing the night away.
