One of Denver’s hottest new bands is set to debut their live sound on May 12th at the Lost Lake Lounge. After 10 months of recording in secret, this “super-group” made up of some of the Front-Range’s most beloved young musicians are ready to make it official with the release of their debut album, ‘Weather Patterns.’ Featuring members of Jet Edison, Springdale Quartet, and The Whales, Other Worlds is going to blow you away.

Dance Party Time Machine – December 11th – Cervantes’ Ballroom

This past Friday night brought Denver unusually warm weather and a variety of choices for the Denver live music faithful to get down. Down at Cervantes’, J2G Live was ready to deliver their third installment of the Dance Party Time Machine, a collaborative effort of Denver’s finest musicians who come together to throwdown a mixtape of hits from throughout the decades of dance music. After trips through the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and more, the time machine landed safely in 2015 to end the evening.

Moon Taxi – November 5th – Gothic Theatre

November is one of the best months for live music in Denver and this past Thursday night was a perfect example as Nashville-based indie/jam rockers, Moon Taxi, returned to the Mile High City. The quintet has seen a steady rise in their Denver fan base since first playing Moe’s Original BBQ almost 10 years ago. After that show lead singer Trevor Terndrup saw the Gothic marquee and said “One day, we will get to play in a place like that.” Thursday night was the realization of that dream.

Tedeschi-Trucks Band – June 13th – Red Rocks Amphitheater

While the finicky Colorado weather continues to hold out warmth and sunshine at Red Rocks, Saturday night brought one of the hottest bills of the summer. The “Wheels of Soul” tour paired Blues virtuoso Doyal Bramhall II with the retro-Soul review of Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and the Blues/Soul hybrid of Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks in the impeccably tight, Tedeschi-Trucks Band. Despite the cold, damp weather, it was a night to remember.

Pops Staples – “Don’t Lose This”

One of the coolest albums of 2015 so far also has one of the coolest stories behind it. Before Roebuck “Pops” Staples, the patriarch of the iconic Staples Singers, passed away in 2000, he gave his daughter Mavis a record which contained “Pops” singing and playing guitar. While in his final days, “Pops” told Mavis to look after the record he recorded, telling Mavis, “Please don’t lose this.”
