No one really has any idea where front man Jonathan “Skippy” Huvard channels his soulful, whiskey soaked vocals and frenetic stage presence but the result is a blistering powerhouse of sound.

He started with James Brown, jumped aboard the Mothership with George Clinton, and stretched out in Bootsy's Rubber Band. He's the living, breathing pulse that connects the history of Funk in one golden thread.

  • With outrageous stage antics that include gaudy leotards stolen from Steven Tyler's wardrobe, leaps and splits borrowed from David Lee Roth, and an ear-piercing falsetto copped from Freddie Mercury himself, England's The Darkness have single-handedly resurrected the rather unfashionable sounds and attitudes of late-'70s hard rock for an unsuspecting generation.

  • This is the first major tour in over a decade for Ben Folds Five. The band amicably parted ways shortly after the 20th Century’s end, eager to explore fresh terrain after seven years of intense concentration on the band. Now after thirteen years since their last album the band has released 'The Sound Of The Life Of The Mind.' Although all three members see Ben Folds Five carrying on for the foreseeable future, it would be ill advised to miss this show.

  • Railroad Earth is one of America’s greatest bands playing today, plain and simple. They sing of our nation’s changing landscape and social ills with a commitment reminiscent of Woody Guthrie, while interpolating instrumental timbres that could have been pulled from Celtic or Cajun culture. And as anyone who has caught them live will attest, their concerts are imbued with the fire-in-the-belly passion of straight-ahead, blue collar rock & roll.

  • Assembly of Dust has a sound that recalls the likes of The Band and Neil Young, but they have taken that early 70's Americana sound and put their own contemporary spin on it. While they haven't played Colorado in nearly three years, the band, fronted by former Strangefolk frontman Reid Genauer, should have no problem packing The Summit Music Hall when they come to town this weekend.
