Roosevelt Collier’s Colorado Get Down – February 19th – 1up Colfax

It wasn’t too long ago that the seedy remnants of a smut shack were re-imagined into an entertainment complex with music, arcade games, and some of the better super-jams in the Denver area. Last Thursday set a new bar for the venue when they sold-out the most recent edition of Roosevelt Collier’s “Colorado Get Down.” This time around Collier welcomed Dave Watts, Garrett Sayers, Joey Porter and Billy Nershi to the stage along with several surprise guests who added some color to an already stellar line-up of talent.

North American Scum – December 6th – 1up Colfax

Despite the Christmas parties that were raging all over town and a number of good shows packing venues on Colfax and beyond, the 1up-Colfax drew a solid crowd on Saturday night when North American Scum took the stage to perform two sets of LCD Soundsystem . The crowd was an eclectic mix of regulars, hippies, hipsters and 30 somethings looking to spend a few hours with the music of a band that called it quits at the height of their career. There’s no doubt that those who made it out for this were glad they did.

The Last Waltz Revisited – November 26th – Fillmore Auditorium

All the way back in 2005, Denver’s own Polytoxic started this tradition at the former Dulcinea’s 100th Monkey (now the 1UP-Colfax) just a half-block from the doors of The Fillmore. The boys brought up local musicians to help recreate The Band’s 1976 concert, The Last Waltz. It was the first such tribute for Denver and with so much success, Polytoxic started the Thanksgiving eve Tradition. Now, ten years later, after residencies at Cervantes’ and The Ogden, things have come almost full circle.
