Hell’s Belles, MF Ruckus, & The Dirty Femmes – November 2nd – The Oriental Theater

First Friday packed the sidewalks and bars along Tennyson as a healthy crowd filed into The Oriental Theater for a night of musical tributes (and at least one surprise guest). With The Dirty Femmes honoring The Violent Femmes, MF Ruckus nodding to Iron Maiden, and Hell’s Belles doing their best AC/DC impression, it was a night complete with sex, drugs, and Rock and Roll.

Champagne Charlie Talk Nudity On-Stage and Cheap Beer

Champagne Charlie is a band that grew both musically and lyrically despite, or maybe due to, dimly lit rooms, and the smell of stale beer combined with sour bar towels. Manifestation artistique, originally a four member band, their numbers have grown to seven or more depending on the night. Like Chicago Cabaret, Champagne Charlie fully embraces a larger band ensemble, believing “the more the better.”
