Billy And The Kids – April 20th – Ogden Theatre

With so many out and about in Denver to celebrate the 4/20 “holiday,” mellow vibes quickly turned to desperation as the box office attendant posted the “Sold-Out” sign in front of the iconic Ogden Theatre. While it may have been a surprise to some that a band making their Denver debut on a Monday night sold-out the 1,700 person theater, the performance Billy and The Kids turned in showed why it’s always smart to grab your tickets in advance.

The M&Ms – May 10th – Cervantes’ Masterpiece

The air was thick with anticipation last Saturday at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom as the venue filled up early for round two of the M&Ms, a “Super Group” forged by the hands of Stanton Moore and Robert Mercurio (Galactic), John Medeski (Medeski Martin and Wood) and Papa Mali (7 Walkers). The collaboration of amazing artists turned out a solid slice of the Big Easy on Friday, leaving fans excited for another funky dance party.

George Porter Jr. Talks Recording Some Old Meters Songs & Playing With David Byrne

George Porter Jr. was a pioneer of the Funk sound during his days with The Meters, and he has been laying down funky bass licks since the 60s. Recently, he and his band The Runnin’ Pardners have released a new album called Can’t Beat The Funk. Bill Kreutzmann of Grateful Dead fame brings his new band, 7 Walkers, to the Gothic Theatre on Friday night for a night of classic Bay Area rock and New Orleans funk. While the band, that also features Papa Mali, is sure to run through a majority of their self titled debut album, they will also delve deep in the catalog of Grateful Dead favorites to keep everyone dancing late into the night.
