Whether he was guiding a raft down a river, steering a courtroom as a public defender, or navigating the inner workings of the mind while, Palmer’s experiences are invaluable when it comes to his songwriting.

Alan Jackson – June 28th – Red Rocks

Red Rocks Amphitheatre is always a place that brings a smile the face of a concert-goer and last Thursday was no exception. Alan Jackson’s fan base was out in force, decked out in ten gallon hats, belt buckles big enough to double as body armor, some of the most diverse cowboy boots known to man, and smiles the size of Texas. The audience had a great mix of old and new fans and everyone was ready to stomp their boots and get the hoedown started. As The Rocks filled in, the excitement began to grow. You could feel the energy in the air.

Ah, the 90’s. It was a wild time with 80’s Hair Bands getting devoured by the raging juggernaut out of Seattle that was grunge, and Hip-Hop enjoying it’s glory years. Nirvana fearlessly led the Grunge movement while Green Day showed us all how to blend Pop and Punk to create some ridiculously hooky songs. Speaking of hooky songs, Weezer, Sheryl Crow, and Ace of Base all cranked out a few of their own throughout a decade that was known for the rise of the internet, the dissolution of the Soviet Union, and the first Gulf War.
