Amos Lee & The Colorado Symphony – August 1st – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Estimated read time 3 min read

It was a gorgeous summer night at Red Rocks this past Friday and fifty-year-old white women waited in long lines to buy Beringer white wine. And buy it they did. As the night progressed the blouse wearing masses yapped, sipped and sang. The sky changed colors over the sold-out rocks and the crowd found their seats early for another magical collaboration with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.

Last Saturday night, The Flight For Life Benefit and KBCO’s 35th Anniversary concert was held at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield. With performances from KBCO darlings like The Dunwells, Amos Lee, and Sheryl Crow it was a bit surprising that the modest arena was only a little over half-full of fans, radio station devotees, and folks out to support a great cause. Despite this, nothing could stop this group from having a great time.

Amos Lee – December 9th – Temple Buell Theater

Estimated read time 6 min read

The crowd inside the Temple Buell Theatre on Friday night was hip and full of enthusiasm. Whether it was the parents bringing their kids to see Brett Dennen, or the young professional couples who came to be urged into romance by Amos Lee, they all seemed cool to me. On the performance side of things, it seemed as if Dennen and Lee had two different goals for the evening: Dennen’s was to keep it loose and Lee’s to keep it tight. They both delivered and together gave us a night to remember.
