Sometimes a band’s name seems to mean nothing about the band, and sometimes it clearly means everything. Well, for Gipsy Moon, it’s all in the name. Hailing from the majestic, mountain town of Nederland, this young band captures the soul of their surroundings in the music they create. We had the pleasure of chatting with Gipsy Moon’s David Matters (banjo, guitar, vocals), who gave us some insight on the name and the spirit of this band who is “On the Road to ARISE.”

The music scene in Colorado is about as diverse as it gets. Bluegrass, Rock, Funk, Soul, Roots and Reggae music are just some of the genres that are well represented locally…and often time’s bands pull from various genres in order to produce their signature sound. Bonfire Dub is one of those bands. Born in Vail, Bonfire Dub has a sound that represents a lot of what Colorado is about. Their performance will take you on a genre spanning journey, yet still allow you to stay in the same groove.

Campout for the Cause – May 24th-26th – State Bridge

Imagine a place where you wake up alongside a quiet river surrounded by rolling hills, views of snow-capped mountains in the distance, a brief walk to yoga and paddle boarding, live music in a very intimate outdoor venue, old and new friends everywhere you turn. Got it? Well, that’s State Bridge. Some highlights for many of the festival goers included The Magic Beans, Fruition, Govinda, Mountain Standard Time, Whitewater Ramble, Ishi, and Jaden Carlson—a 12 year old guitarist and singer/songwriter from Boulder.
