Elephant Revival – May 21st – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

The cusp of summer in Colorado is a beautiful time of year, full of warm days, cool nights, and dreamy mountain adventures – perfect for an evening on The Rocks with Elephant Revival. They hail from that little town a 30-minute drive up the canyon from Boulder, the mysterious town of Nederland (referred to by locals as “Ned”). It doesn’t have much cell phone service, and isn’t a typical stop on a tourist’s map. Perhaps that’s why this town has shaped such unique artists as the ones who make up this wonderful band.

Greensky Bluegrass returns to Colorado this weekend to close their monster Fall tour in a two-night run at the Gothic Theatre. Undoubtedly, their weekender will be a great time for all as the band prides themselves on knowing how to throw a good party. We caught up with mandolin player Paul Hoffman to get the scoop on their tour and their new album, ‘If Sorrows Swim’, which will be out in early 2014.

Phoenix On The Exclamation Point: It’s A Good Thing!

Denver knew Phoenix way back when. We have a history. The kind of history, upon reflection, that was described as “magical” and “iconic” when Listen Up Denver! sat down with Phoenix guitarist, Laurent Brancowitz. Considering the Michael Jackson dance party that erupted at the band’s first visit to Denver in 2009 touring for Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, it’s not much of an exaggeration. If the past encounters between Denver and Phoenix are any sign, their show at Red Rocks will find everyone dancing, no matter what.

Austin City Limits Music Festival – October 12th-14th – Austin, TX

Austin Texas is commonly known as the “Live Music Capital of The World” and since 1976 the great live music program “Austin City Limits” has aired on PBS. Though this program was originally intended to showcase the music of Texas it has grown exponentially and eventually blossomed into the Austin City Limits Music Festival. It’s only been 11 years, but ACL has gained a reputation as the premiere music lover’s festival and has cemented Austin as the greatest music town in the universe.
