  • There are few bands out there that are more polarizing than Trancefusion Jamband pioneers The Disco Biscuits.   Music fans seem to either love or hate them with very few people falling anywhere in between.   Coming on the heels of a 3 night Colorado Bisco Inferno run just a few months ago,  Bisco lovers were treated to another 3 night run with 2 nights at The Boulder Theater and a headlining spot at the Feed The Rocks event with by RJD2 and Shpongle.

  • Every year in Colorado, April 20 really does feel like a holiday. But this year, with the passage of Amendment 64 last fall, Coloradoans were craving that Rocky Mountain High more than ever. Colfax was packed early in the day, and it definitely seemed like something strange was in the air. For the funky dance band known for its sold-out, psychedelic Halloween shows, the weirdness in the air last Saturday could have resembled one of those late October shows The Motet has been putting on for about a decade.

  • Driving into Winter Park on Friday afternoon was a 3mph parade of late teens and twenty-somethings already in neon accessories and ski gear, piled six deep in SUV’s on the way to one of the more unique electronic music events in the country, Snowball Music Festival. The police, who vowed to be less aggressive than last year, pulled over cars left and right as we made our way through downtown Winter Park to the condo.  It was 4pm and the anticipation had everybody in full party mode before sunset.

  • Denver’s own Ableminds have been crafting improvised, Funky Electronica since their inception in 2011.  After scoring opening spots for Bonobo and Signal Path as well as a set beside David Murphy of STS9 at Sonic Blossom this trio is beginning to craft a unique and sweeping sound which is no easy task in the world of improvised electronic music.

  • Austin Texas is commonly known as the "Live Music Capital of The World" and since 1976 the great live music program "Austin City Limits" has aired on PBS. Though this program was originally intended to showcase the music of Texas it has grown exponentially and eventually blossomed into the Austin City Limits Music Festival. It’s only been 11 years, but ACL has gained a reputation as the premiere music lover’s festival and has cemented Austin as the greatest music town in the universe.

  • On a full moon night in early Autumn the young and the restless made their last Red Rocks appearance of the summer. The young crowd was decked out in full regalia and looking to cap off the epic summer of concerts on The Rocks. There was major buzz surrounding the headliner, local heroes Big Gigantic, and the touted visual display. The energy was palpable and the stage was set for a fantastic finish to the summer concert season.

  • Despite what Big Gigantic was doing up at Red Rocks, The Ogden was "Rowdytown" on Saturday night.  Cowboy Hats and big hair dotted the packed the room and the sweet smell of Whiskey filled the air as Country fans rubbed shoulders with Rock-n-Rollers.  It's been about a year and a half since Ryan Bingham brought his outlaw sounds to Denver and the big box on stage emblazoned with the words "Welcome To The Fist Fight" signaled we were in for a rowdy show well before the former Professional Bull Rider and his new band took the stage.

  • It's time for Part Two of the wonderful and wacky world of Wakarusa!  Days three and four of the festival featured music from everyone from Matisyahu to Big Gigantic and while there were several massive thunderstorms, they didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the crowd or our team of reviewers and photographers.  Saturday morning kicked-off with a potluck breakfast and by the time Sunday evening's epic rainstorm rolled around our team was already planning for next year!
