Campout For The Cause – May 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th – Rancho Del Rio

Estimated read time 14 min read

Imagine a tiny wayside town off the beaten path of another place off another beaten path. This is Rancho Del Rio, site of the annual Campout for the Cause festival. Located four miles from State Bridge in Bond Co and Highway 131, the use of the word “town” for Rancho Del Rio is extravagant. Simply “Rancho,” as the locals call it, is no more than a smattering of small cabins and a local BBQ stand.

Estimated read time 9 min read

The music scene in Colorado is about as diverse as it gets. Bluegrass, Rock, Funk, Soul, Roots and Reggae music are just some of the genres that are well represented locally…and often time’s bands pull from various genres in order to produce their signature sound. Their performance will take you on a genre spanning journey, yet still allow you to stay in the same groove.

Campout for the Cause – May 23rd – 25th – Rancho Del Rio

Estimated read time 10 min read

Rancho Del Rio was home to Campout for the Cause again this year. While over the years it had traveled downstream to the State Bridge venue, this year, founder and promoter, Scott Stoughton decided to return the festival to its roots by placing it back at the pseudo-shanty town/river paradise that sits against the back drop to the usually peaceful Colorado River. It didn’t turn out to be so peaceful this weekend, but we’ll get to that later.

Some highlights for many of the festival goers included The Magic Beans, Fruition, Govinda, Mountain Standard Time, Whitewater Ramble, Ishi, and Jaden Carlson—a 12 year old guitarist and singer/songwriter from Boulder.

Fruition – April 13th – Cervantes’ Other Side

Estimated read time 4 min read

Being around at the beginning, before a band makes it big, is a desire shared by all music lovers and Colorado is no stranger to this phenomena. We’ve always been big believers that if you can make a name for yourself in Colorado then you can make it almost anywhere. With Fruition, we won’t know for sure until maybe a year from now, but last week they made a real case for themselves at Cervantes’ when they brought their West Coast Folk-Rock String Band sound to the Front Range for a three night stand.
