Last Friday night, Daniel Donato brought his Cosmic Country band and his Allman Brothers tribute project, Trouble No More, to Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom. The sold-out crowd was treated to a night of high-energy guitar wizardry, soulful vocals, and jam-packed renditions of classic songs.

Matador! Soul Sounds Debut Video For “Go On, Love” and Announce Fall U.S. Tour Dates

Matador! Soul Sounds has released a live video recorded at Eddie Roberts’ new creative hub Color Red Studios in Denver, CO. They also will be back in the US after their European Summer dates in the Fall. If you aren’t familiar, the band consists of the dream team of Eddie Roberts (New Mastersounds) and Alan Evans (Soulive) alongside keyboardist Chris Spies and bassist Kevin Scott. Rounding out the already killer line-up are vocalists Kimberly Dawson (Pimps of Joytime) and Adryon de León (Orgone) bringing their soulful and powerful energy to the mix.

If there is one place in Denver known for whipping up a party, it’s Cervantes’ and on Friday night things got moving early with a powerful set from Asheville North Carolina’s Toubab Krewe. The quintet tore down the boundaries between genres as they deftly took African rhythms, overlayed funky guitar licks, and got the room moving before The Pimps of Joytime took over and delivered a set chock full of their trademark feel-good Electro-Funk.

Nelly – Cervantes’ Ballroom – October 27th

To call it “Hot in Herre” was an understatement last Thursday night when Nelly hit the stage at Cervantes’ for a sold-out show. Labeled “An Intimate Performance by Nelly,” the pre-show conversation had people wondering what type of performance this would be. Would Nelly be pumping out slow jams, or did “intimate” simply mean we’d be up close and personal with one of our favorite rappers from the early ‘00s? Luckily it was the latter, and nearly every song that shot Nelly to the top of the charts over ten years ago was performed.
