The Ride Festival – July 14th & 15th – Telluride Town Park

Estimated read time 5 min read

While Telluride Bluegrass Festival is the granddaddy of music festivals in Telluride, The Ride Festival, now in its seventh year, has quickly become recognized for a diverse lineup and past heavy hitters such as Pearl Jam, Beck, and Widespread Panic. This year’s edition leaned a bit more on the jam band end of the spectrum, featuring headlining sets from The String Cheese Incident both nights of the festival.

Chris Robinson Brotherhood – May 15th – Cervantes’ Ballroom

Estimated read time 4 min read

Chris Robinson Brotherhood is a band by definition, and a great one at that, but the term “brotherhood” more aptly describes what happens on stage. CRB has nothing to do with Black Crowes, but defines itself independently with a signature sound. Robinson is a Rock and Roll king but he is proudly wearing CRB like a crown while turning the tide decades into his career, and we are all grateful when he holds court. The Crowes may be no longer, but this next chapter for Robinson is going beautifully.

PICK OF THE WEEK: Chris Robinson Brotherhood – Cervantes’ – Tuesday & Wednesday, December 30th & 31st

Estimated read time 2 min read

The music Chris Robinson has been involved with over the last 30 years has made an indelible mark on the patchwork of American musical history. His current project, The Chris Robinson Brotherhood, focuses more on the roll rather than the rock, through a Grateful Dead influenced psychedelic space that is as heady as anything that came out of Marin County in the 1970s.

Chris Robinson Brotherhood – May 16th & 17th – Cervantes’ Ballroom

Estimated read time 1 min read

Denver’s Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom played host this past weekend to the Chris Robinson Brotherhood. Robinson, whose other band, The Black Crowes, is taking a break after a solid year of touring, played to a packed house both nights with his bandmates Neil Casal, Adam MacDougall, Mark Dutton and Geaorge Sluppick. The bluesy, laid back rock band only repeated a couple of tunes over the two night run and mixed a few well chosen covers into the mix.
