String Cheese Incident – December 8, 9, & 10 – Chicago, IL
The String Cheese Incident wrapped up their first tour in four years with a three night blowout at The Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL. With six full sets of music, the boys finished out the tour with a bang and gave us all something to look forward to next year! New songs like “BollyMunster” and “Rosie” thrilled the crowd why old favorites like “Restless Wind,” “Lester Had A Coconut,” and “Born On The Wrong Planet” reminded everyone of their roots with SCI. It’s true, roots do run deep. Thanks for reminding us all!
Kyle Hollingsworth Band (feat. Michael Kang) – November 19th – Cervantes’ Ballroom
Colorado loves it’s Cheese and the fact that Kyle Hollingsworth was going to be playing with his SCI cohort Michael Kang was almost too much for some eager fans to handle at Cervantes’ last Saturday! This incarnation of KHB brought the positivity and brightness of SCI, but they focused on the funk that Kyle brings to the Cheese party for well over two hours. It was an infectious night of funk.
Westword Music Showcase – June 18th – Golden Triangle
With 16 stages and over 150 local and national bands, The Westword Music Showcase boasts that it is Denver’s biggest one-day music festival and quite frankly, it’s almost too much to manage. With 16 bands playing at the same time, conflicts abound and you are left to select only a few over the course of the day. That said, it’s a great festival and the overload is part of the fun!
