Foo Fighters – August 16th – Fiddler’s Green

With a light mist in the air and clouds covering the sky, it was the perfect backdrop for one of the most highly anticipated concerts of the summer. Fiddler’s Green packed in quick, the grass inevitably got muddy, and the male-centric crowd buzzed around the beer vendors and quickly got settled in to kick-off a two night run with the Foo Fighters. This Foo Fighters’ show was one that won’t soon be forgotten and reminded many yet again why they love music – it truly touches people.

Self described as “the greatest band in the world,” Tenacious D has been melting faces and exploding brains around the world for almost 20 years. From humble beginnings in clubs around L.A., and a short-lived show on HBO, The D has ascended to the top of the proverbial pyramid of comedic rock music on the shoulders of Jack Black’s “pipes of platinum,” and Kyle Gass’s “riffs of pure profundity.” The group’s 16 date summer tour stops at Red Rocks on Thursday and they are sure to bring the thunder!

Foo Fighters – October 9th – Pepsi Center

Dave Grohl and his band mates exploded onto the Pepsi Center stage to a deafening roar just a few minutes past nine and launched right into “Bridge Burning,” the opening track of their most recent album, Wasting Light and they didn’t slow down for more than 2 and half hours. Was it the best show ever, no, clearly not, but it was entertaining. It was a true arena rock show that took advantage of the space and the considerable resources that were available.
