An air of mystical excitement filled Red Rocks on Friday the 13th. The curious date was met with another peculiar happening: a full moon, a combo which won’t be seen again until 2049. All of this made for a fantastic yet somewhat eerie mood within the crowd. Put it together with the enchanting Electronic World Dance music of Thievery Corporation at the world famous venue Red Rocks and what do you get? “It’s going to be spiritual,” I heard one guy say. His prediction was spot-on.

David Byrne & St. Vincent – July 13th – Botanic Gardens @ Chatfield

Despite the fact that David Bryne and Annie Clark (aka St. Vincent) were forced to cut their set a bit short due to a lengthy rain delay before their concert last weekend at The Botanic Gardens at Chatfield, they put on a fantastic performance, and one that will people will be talking about until the next time Byrne comes to town. The duo treated us to about two thirds of their recent collaboration ‘Love This Giant’ along with a smattering of St Vincent originals and some real crowd pleasers in the form of four Talking Heads covers.

George Porter Jr. Talks Recording Some Old Meters Songs & Playing With David Byrne
