Four things things we cherish here in Colorado are music, winter activities, a good cause, and what was the fourth…oh yeah, beer! Last year a festival made its inaugural run that encompasses all of these things we hold so dear. Recently, Listen Up Denver! had a chance to chat with Chris and Susannah about UllrGrass festival taking place January 29th-31st in Golden.

Telluride lived up to the hype!!! There were howls at the “super moon,” tarp runs, tributes to one of our favorites, Levon Helm, new friends, and old friends. From The Mayor of Telluride, Mr. Sam Bush, to up-and-comers, Lake Street Dive, the music was top notch from morning till night. Was it all about the banjo? No. Was it all about music? No. Telluride Bluegrass is an experience and the best word to describe it is “legendary.”

David Grisman Bluegrass Experience – February 4th – The Ogden

On the heels of a blizzard that blanketed the Front Range with more than 20 inches of snow in some places, David Grisman brought his Bluegrass Experience to The Ogden Theatre for a night of traditional Bluegrass music. Though the room wasn’t nearly packed, in the end, everyone seemed genuinely grateful that we got to see some real bluegrass, and in the process, got a history lesson from a man who doesn’t just play Bluegrass music, but lives it.
