Riot Fest – September 19th, 20th, 21st – Sports Authority Field

Although Riot Fest celebrated it’s tenth anniversary this year, it was only the second year that the festival has come to Colorado. The festival was originally located in Byers, but after the town refused to let festival attendees return for the second year, the event was moved to the blacktop at Sports Authority Field in Denver. Riot Fest is one-of-a-kind festival, with carnival rides and sideshows and a wide variety of music ranging from Rock to Punk to Rap.

ill.Gates – November 15th – Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom

ill.Gates has consistently been on the forefront of the EDM scene, both producing and educating upstart musicians throughout the last decade and last Thursday night he preached the good word of music to a willing congregation at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom on his Church of Bass Tour. Debuting his new light setup, he managed to run his own audio and visual at the same time, and kept the crowd bouncing for 2 hours of bass infused beauty. He is a man of bold sights, sounds, and ideologies and he did not dissapoint.

Sonar On Tour: Featuring Die Antwoord – November 7th – The Ogden

Die Antwoord roared into Denver last week as part of “Sonar On Tour” and by all accounts, the seven and half hour spectacle was not for the faint of heart. With 7 acts on the bill ranging from the Disco influenced Chicago House of Azari & III to Paul Kalkbrenner’s dark and minimalist Techno, to the Rave-Rap of the headliner, it was a memorable evening for all who dared walk through the doors as our photos attest to.
