Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit have become an institution at the greatest venue on earth, even requiring two nights this year at Red Rocks to satisfy the ticket demand. This year’s Wednesday night show was a spectacle from start to finish with hail that blended into rain before yielding to a double rainbow and finally perfect weather during the show. Fleetwood Mac – December 12th – Pepsi Center

Estimated read time 4 min read

The Pepsi Center was flooded with Baby Boomers this past Friday for a truly remarkable performance by the still-blossoming legends, Fleetwood Mac. Generation Xers sprinkled here and there followed by Millennials who shrieked with excitement, clad in their mother’s hand-me-downs. Strangers bought drinks for each other and shared stories. Elderly couples told wide-eyed girls about the first time they had ever seen Fleetwood Mac; they told them of their emotional turmoil, their many reunions and their many fallouts. Then the lights fell.

Brandi Carlile – July 13th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Estimated read time 5 min read

On Saturday night the audience got more than their fair share of rain while waiting for Brandi Carlile’s return to Red Rocks. The previously forecasted “monsoon” rains put on quite a show that led to flash flooding, washed out roads and some serious lightening. During the set change, as if right on cue, the clouds faded to the east and the moon peeked over the back of the venue. Carlile, the brother’s Hanseroth and the rest of band took the stage to a roaring and energized crowd.

The Pepsi Center played host to rock royalty, Fleetwood Mac, last weekend. The 47 year old band is currently touring in support of their latest album, Extended Play, covering 34 cities on the ride. With Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie firing on all cylinders, the band delivered a marathon 2 and half hour show (not bad for aging rockers) that was chock full of the hits you know and love. From “Rhiannon” to “Landslide,” they played them all.

moe.peners: Yamn & The Congress – 11/30 & 12/1 – The Ogden

Estimated read time 5 min read

The sidewalks leading to The Ogden Theatre were packed this past weekend, not only because moe. was in town for a two-night run, but because a pair of Colorado’s favorite bands were opening the shows. The lines to get in the door started early and, on both nights, the theater was packed from the pit to the balcony for the duration. It’s not easy task to win over a room full of inpatient jamband fans, but both these bands did it by playing their hearts out and we are proud they call Denver home!

Cervantes’ “Spring Thaw” – March 3rd – Cervantes’

Estimated read time 6 min read

Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom hosted a dual venue event dubbed “The Spring Thaw Showcase” last weekend and seven local bands were given the chance to “showcase” their talents on two different stages. These bands would normally not play the stages they were on, but were given the opportunity… if they provided some sweat equity leading up to the night. Bands were given tickets prior to the show, and they hit the streets promoting the evening, and giving the tickets away so people could get a chance to see them strut their stuff.
