Soulive & Kyle Hollingsworth Band – December 7th – Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom

Concert-goers escaped a chilly Friday evening as Cervantes’ played host to Kyle Hollingsworth Band and Soulive. With local favorites Good Gravy rocking The Other Side, an eccentric and young mix of Jazz veterans and Jamband stalwarts packed in for a night of smooth vibes and all around rambunctious behavior. Though Hollingsworth kicked things off with an uninspired set, Soulive moved us with a soulful and Jazzy performance.

David Grisman Bluegrass Experience – February 4th – The Ogden

On the heels of a blizzard that blanketed the Front Range with more than 20 inches of snow in some places, David Grisman brought his Bluegrass Experience to The Ogden Theatre for a night of traditional Bluegrass music. Though the room wasn’t nearly packed, in the end, everyone seemed genuinely grateful that we got to see some real bluegrass, and in the process, got a history lesson from a man who doesn’t just play Bluegrass music, but lives it.

The Waka Winter Classic Comes To Colorado This Week

The anticipation for the summer festival season couldn’t be any higher than during these long winter months. Thankfully we don’t have to wait for summer to experience a bit of the Festival life as the Waka Winter Classic brings the festival experience to Colorado this week. At two different stops, Cervantes’ Other Side and Hodi’s Half Note, bands will compete for the chance to perform at Wakarusa 2012. Cornmeal – May 7th – The Fox Theatre

Cornmeal are truly masters of going from extended improvisational jams right into a boot stomping traditional number. On Saturday night they took the audience on an amazing journey through many styles of music, and the chemistry they have together and their ability to charm a crowd is a testament to their staying power in the hippie-jam-grass genre.
