Gov’t Mule & Vintage Trouble – November 5th – Ogden

Estimated read time 5 min read

Vintage Trouble and Gov’t Mule shared the stage at The Ogden last week in front of a packed house of Southern boys, grizzled bikers and a smattering of hippies. It was the opener who left puddles of sweat on-stage as they served up vintage Blues, Rock and Soul with a fervor that is seldom equaled these days, but Warren Haynes and his band earned points for consistency as they delivered two monster sets of Rock and Blues that showcased the immense talent on stage.

Levon Helm Tribute – June 2nd – The Mountain Jam Festival

Estimated read time 8 min read

“As I looked at all of the members of The Levon Helm Band when they lined up at the end of the night, I saw a band in transition and a family in mourning. I saw a group of extremely talented musicians who are willing to do whatever it takes to get through this, and to keep Levon’s legacy going strong. The pain of Levon’s death is still etched deeply in the hearts of many, and will continue to be for a long time, but the joy his music creates is just as powerful.”

Steve Kimock & Friends – March 2nd – Quixote’s

Estimated read time 4 min read

Steve Kimock returned to Denver with some friends this past weekend for a two night stand at Quixotes. Kimock’s friends included the legendary Bernie Worrell (Parliament Funkadelic, Talking Heads) on keys, Andy Hess (Gov’t Mule) on bass, and Wally Ingram (Stockholm Syndrome) on the skins. This lineup looked powerful, and oh did they deliver despite a very chatty audience.
