First Aid Kit – November 18th – Ogden Theatre

Estimated read time 3 min read

Sister-led Swedish folk-country band First Aid Kit sold-out the Ogden Theatre last Tuesday in their first ever headlining appearance in Denver. Noah Gundersen – October 19th – Bluebird Theater

Estimated read time 3 min read

A line of flannel clad college-aged kids stretched down the sidewalk in front of the Bluebird last Sunday night for Indie-Folk artist Noah Gundersen. The line didn’t end up being indicative of a sold-out show though, and there was room to traverse the venue without spilling your drink. The young audience was respectful and some of the most affecting moments of the night were supported by the dead silence in the room as Noah Gundersen expertly tapped into the emotions of every person in the room.

Jack White – August 8th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Estimated read time 6 min read

The internets were buzzing last week when Rock & Roll Bluesman Jack White was rumored to be playing a secret show somewhere in Denver. The word finally came down and Facebook exploded giving fans only 15 minutes to get over to a service station somewhere on West Colfax for the impromptu performance. While only a few hundred folks made it out to that show, Red Rocks was packed on Wednesday evening when the pale skinned and heavy hearted Bluesman took the stage with an all female backing band.

Estimated read time 4 min read

For The Ben Miller Band 2011 was filled with both heartache and hope. In May, a devastating tornado hit their hometown of Joplin, MO. Listen Up Denver! got to catch up with Ben Miller, and although he recounted some of the devastation, what we mostly talked about was all the good that happened last year.
