Little Feat “Waiting For Columbus” – Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre – July 29th

Last Saturday’s Little Feat and Hot Tuna show at Fiddler’s Green was a great night for fans of Classic Rock and Blues. Hot Tuna, the evening’s special guest opening the show and was a perfect complement to Little Feat, bringing their own brand of Blues-infused Rock to the stage.

The Wheels of Soul: Tedeschi Trucks Band, The Wood Brothers, Hot Tuna – July 30th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

The Wheels of Soul rolled into Red Rocks last weekend and featured two nights of Tedeschi Trucks Band, The Wood Brothers, and Hot Tuna. Despite some rain early on Sunday, the fans got a healthy helping of Roots, Soul, Rock and Blues that featured more collaborations and covers than anyone could have anticipated. It was a memorable night on The Rocks and one that will likely go down in the lore of the storied venue.

Widespread Panic – June 26th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

The tradition of the Sunday afternoon matinee as a grand finale to Widespread Panic’s annual Red Rocks stand is damn near timeless and, this past Sunday, the band and their fans proved why yet again. Beach balls bounced around a hot and sweaty crowd that smelled like “ladies lying in the sun” due to all the sunscreen applied to fend off the baking mid-day sun, and there was a carefree, beach party attitude in the air.

Hot Tuna’s dedication to their fans, whether it be through Fur Peace Ranch or developing quality instruments for folks to play, is probably the most endearing aspect of Jack Casady and Jorma Kaukonen’s legacy but they are still creating amazing music without any signs of stopping.
