Ms. Lauryn Hill – July 13th – Ogden Theatre

Despite a long wait before Ms. Lauryn Hill took the stage last Sunday night at the Ogden Theatre, the evening turned out to be an extremely creative night of music. The Mrs. Lauryn Hill experience came through town and was looking to get down, and that’s sure as heck what they did. Hill’s energy was at an extreme high, swag and attitude were on point, and her vocals could not have been more strikingly profound, impressively articulate, and unfathomably beautiful.

Nas & Lauryn Hill – November 16th – The Fillmore Auditorium

A diverse crowd packed The Fillmore Auditorium as hip-hop veterans Nas and the seminal Ms. Lauryn Hill rolled into town for a night of classic beats and old school vibes. While Nas has been committed to his collaboration with Damien Marley over the last several years, Hill has been noticeably absent from the world of music recently as she has taken time off to raise her first child. The 1990’s Hip-Hop revival was alive and well in the Fillmore as Thanksgiving 2012 loomed on the horizon.

20 Questions With MTHDS

Denver’s MTHDS are reviving their Beastie Boys tribute show this week in honor of Adam “MCA” Yauch who passed away in early May and they took some time to answer our “20 Questions” as they prepped for the show. One read through this exchange and you’ll get a feel for what a witty, sarcastic bunch of guys that make up this group. From comparing themselves to The Partridge Family to claiming that John Denver is one of the best local bands on the scene right now, it’s clear that one of the only these guys take seriously is their music.
