Icelantic’s Winter On The Rocks – January 30th – Red Rocks

Estimated read time 2 min read

Once a year, a sea of fans, clad from head to to in insulated coats, snow pants, and beanies, descends upon Red Rocks for the annual Winter on the Rocks, hosted by Denver based ski brand Icelantic. While retaining the perennial Hip-Hop vibe, this year’s offering leaned toward the Reggae end of the spectrum. With unseasonably warm temperatures the crowd was a bit less bundled up than last year, when the show was blessed with consistent snowfall. The venue was less than full, but the crowd was rowdy and upbeat all night.

Conspirator – March 22nd – The Aggie Theater

Estimated read time 3 min read

Conspirator returned to the Aggie Theater for a Friday evening show that featured zero liquor sales and a modest crowd. Following recent transgressions, the Aggie was recently bared from selling liquor for five days. Unfortunately, as soon as many people saw these ominous signs on the doors they turned around and headed for nearby bars. Despite the lack of liquid courage in the venue, Conspirator’s wicked jams were enough to ignite a small contingent of newcomers and die hard Disco Biscuits fans.

Bassnectar – June 1st – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Estimated read time 6 min read

Bassnectar’s set on Friday started with a voice coming over the sound system asking “Is everybody in? is everybody ready for the ceremony?” The place erupted with over nine thousand voices screaming praise while “Wildstyle Method” boomed out over the PA. To say that it was loud would be a disservice and a huge understatement. The frequencies and sounds the man is able to reach rattle your bones from the inside, in the best possible way.
