Two Gallants & Mariachi El Bronx – May 17th – The Fox Theatre

A healthy mix of hipsters, punk rockers, curious newcomers to the sound, and seasoned vets all showed up to The Fox Theatre on the 17th when Punk Rock / Mariachi hybrid, Mariachi El Bronx came to town on the back end of an eclectic double bill that was rounded out by the emotionally charged gritty rock duo Two Gallants who put on a great show. Both bands were loud, full of passion, and threw together some of the best sets of music we’ve seen in a long time.

Foo Fighters – October 9th – Pepsi Center

Dave Grohl and his band mates exploded onto the Pepsi Center stage to a deafening roar just a few minutes past nine and launched right into “Bridge Burning,” the opening track of their most recent album, Wasting Light and they didn’t slow down for more than 2 and half hours. Was it the best show ever, no, clearly not, but it was entertaining. It was a true arena rock show that took advantage of the space and the considerable resources that were available.

PICK OF THE WEEK: Foo Fighters – Sunday, October 9th – The Pepsi Center

The Foo Fighters bring their massive arena tour to Denver this coming Sunday and they are sure to put on a rock show of epic proportions. Dave Grohl and his seasoned band of veterans are writing the book on big budget concerts and this tour spares no expense in it’s effort to dazzle concert goers. With a massive ramp that extends the length of the arena and a GA floor, fans can get close enough to the rock legend to smell the sweat!
