  • Last Thursday's late-summer evening with Gov’t Mule, moe. and Blackberry Smoke was a highly anticipated date on the Red Rocks calendar. As fans arrived, the more overtly branded Mule fans heavily populated the crowd. Not to be discounted: moe.’s summer tour has been choked full of great performances and wild energy so there was plenty of anticipation in the venue for the New York rockers that split the bill.

  • The crowd was nicely mixed at the LoHi Music Festival on Saturday. People of all ages, shapes and styles came out of the woodwork for the third year of Highland Tap & Burger's annual music to-do. The music of the opening band started at noon and could be heard from blocks away, telling friends, neighbors and passersby that they should stop and take a listen. Throughout the day the two stages of the festival saw Genetics, Tiger Party, The Heavy Pets, The Pimps of Joytime, Joy Porter's Vital Organ, Chrome Drones and, most fantastically, moe.

The festivities started in the main ballroom with a powerful set from The Great Guys and throughout the night bouncing back and forth between the Ballroom and The Other Side was almost required as Kim Dawson's Sisters of Soul, Assembly of Dust, Atomga, and Floodwood all whipped the crowd into a frenzy.

  • Over the last ten years Assembly of Dust has crafted a unique sound that recalls the likes of The Band, Traffic and Neil Young. They have taken that early 70's Americana swagger, put their own funky spin on it. Hooky melodies, poetic lyrics, and a profound depth of musicianship prompted USA Today to say Assembly of Dust has what it takes to “dazzle the Alt-Country universe.”

  • As the temperatures dropped last Friday in Denver, people packed into the Ogden to see the Progressive Rock band moe. kick off their winter tour. Smiles swarmed the crowd as old friends reunited as the inevitably do when moe. comes to town; it’s nice to be amongst decent people when you are in a shoulder-to-shoulder crowd. The 30-year old band delivered an impressive performance; the only disappointment from the evening was its inevitable end--not that it had ended early, but simply that it couldn't go on forever.

  • Connecting with the audience is something moe. strives to do at every live show. If you’re looking for rock stars that head-bang, gyrate, and throw their shirts at the end of a set, this ain't your show. However, if you’re looking to see a tireless rock band who plays their hearts out on original tunes with ease, then you gotta see moe. Whenever these five musicians walked onstage at The Ogden this past weekend, the crowd erupted and proved moe. has been successful at keeping its fans close and its "moe.rons" closer.
