Posted on December 17, 2012 | No CommentsThe Mayan calendar has predicted the end of the world on Friday December 21st, 2012. To celebrate, The Whales are throwing one hell of a party. This will be their last show in Denver of 2012, and after a fantastic spin around the sun, they are excited to be wrapping the year up at the Hi-Dive. On top of that, they took extra care to bring you some of your favorite bands in Mosey West and We’s Us. With this many top-notch musicians in one place, it would certainly mean the end of the world if you miss this show! -
20 Questions With Strange Americans
Posted on September 26, 2012 | No CommentsStrange Americans have created a smoldering sound that is a well thought out blend of Alt-Country, Indie Rock, and Americana, by cherry picking some of the best elements of acclaimed acts like Ryan Adams, My Morning Jacket, and The Band, to influence their songwriting. PICK OF THE WEEK: Mosey West, Strange Americans & Grub Street Writer – Hi-Dive – September 28th
Posted on September 24, 2012 | No CommentsA stacked bill of great local artists like this doesn't come around too often. These three groups embody the spirit and the sound of great Americana bands, while injecting a little Rock 'n Roll for good measure. With Andy Palmer's Grub Street Writer coming up first, followed by up-and-comer Strange Americans, the room is gonna be rockin' by the time Fort Collins' Mosey West takes the stage. -
20 Questions With Mosey West
Posted on April 20, 2012 | No CommentsMosey West, it's a great name for a band from Colorado isn't it? The name imparts the feeling of the easy going, laid back kind of lifestyle that Colorado is famous for. The kind of life where things matter, but nothing except friends, family, music, and maybe an afternoon nap, matter too much. These three guys create music that echoes the images their name conjures up. So, sit back, take a listen to their new single and learn a little about Mosey West before you mosey on about the rest of your day. -
The Waka Winter Classic Comes To Colorado This Week
Posted on January 30, 2012 | No CommentsThe anticipation for the summer festival season couldn't be any higher than during these long winter months. Thankfully we don't have to wait for summer to experience a bit of the Festival life as the Waka Winter Classic brings the festival experience to Colorado this week. At two different stops, Cervantes' Other Side and Hodi's Half Note, bands will compete for the chance to perform at Wakarusa 2012. Listen Up Denver! caught up with Aaron Stehman of Pipeline Productions to talk about Wakarusa and the idea behind the Waka Winter Classic.
