The Mayan calendar has predicted the end of the world on Friday December 21st, 2012. To celebrate, The Whales are throwing one hell of a party. This will be their last show in Denver of 2012, and after a fantastic spin around the sun, they are excited to be wrapping the year up at the Hi-Dive. Strange Americans have created a smoldering sound that is a well thought out blend of Alt-Country, Indie Rock, and Americana, by cherry picking some of the best elements of acclaimed acts like Ryan Adams, My Morning Jacket, and The Band, to influence their songwriting. The anticipation for the summer festival season couldn’t be any higher than during these long winter months.
