Nine Inch Nails – September 3rd – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

When Nine Inch Nails play it’s always a visceral experience and the band’s two night run at Red Rocks last weekend was no different. With two largely different setlists to satisfy the hardcore fans, Trent and company went at it hard. Our photographer Jim Mimna was on hand to fulfill a longtime dream that started way back in 1994.

Faith No More – September 8th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Faith No More drew the short straw with the post Labor Day holiday weekend hangover slot at Red Rocks last Tuesday. While Sol Invictus (released in May on Ipecac), the first studio album from Faith No More since 1997, certainly won’t be their most commercially successful album, it might just be their finest. This band has aged well. Hell, it feels like they never went away. Many of the songs on ‘Sol Invictus’ feel immediately at home with long time fans anxious to see how they translated to the live show.

Nine Inch Nails & Soundgarden – July 21st – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden each delivered an excellent performance in their co-headlining performance at Red Rocks last Monday. Though Soundgarden may have been cast somewhat into the shadows by Trent Reznor and fantastic production quality of his performances, they were enjoyable and technically on point. The gravity of NIN’s performance took the audience through the full human emotional experience. Their portion of the show was massive.

Nine Inch Nails is essentially a one-man Industrial-Rock band whose symphonic noise and intense, alienated lyrics have attracted millions. On September 3, Columbia Records released Hesitation Marks, the new full-length album from Nine Inch Nails. Recorded in secret over the last year, Trent Reznor teamed with producers Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder to create the first new music from Nine Inch Nails in five years.
