Passion Pit “Special DJ Set” – January 25th – Summit Music Hall

Estimated read time 4 min read

The Summit Music Hall filled to a healthy level fairly early last Saturday as fans of Massachusetts-based Indietronica group Passion Pit gathered to see what their “Special DJ Set” was all about. Unfortunately, the set, which consisted of two members of the group DJing, fell short on many fans’ expectations–an evening of Deep House is hardly what someone sees when they read the words “Passion Pit Special DJ Set” on a ticket. The music was great if you are into House music, but in some way, the whole evening seemed to be a bit of a ruse.

Passion Pit – October 15th – Boulder Theater

Estimated read time 4 min read

After what seems to be a pretty big blunder, Electro Indie-Pop band Passion Pit’s show on Tuesday was moved from the 6,500 person 1stBank Center to the 1000 person Boulder Theater earlier this month. Estimated read time 4 min read

A warm nostalgia descended on Red Rocks Thursday night, as anyone who came of age at approximately the same time lives were being changed by the Shins showed up to revisit those overly wrought youthful emotions. Any wisdom or perspective gained in the ten years since The Postal Service’s one and only album, ‘Give Up,’ can’t be confirmed, but a quick scan of the crowd indicated that most had at least conceded victory to the more responsible ideas of fleece jackets, close-toed shoes, and drinking in moderation.

Passion Pit – March 1st – 1stBank Center

Estimated read time 3 min read

Passion Pit and Matt & Kim served up a hell of a dance party last Friday night at 1stBank Center. While Passion Pit might sound like just a MacBook and vocals on the track, their live show is the full package. Groups of high schoolers to young adults, mostly 21+ and female, loosely filled the dark concrete floor with expensive beer and bubbly conversation while waiting for the Indie/Electronic/Pop/Rock sounds that were about to fill the arena.
