  • Telluride Bluegrass. Once you’ve been there, whether it’s for a day, a week, or forty consecutive years, it becomes part of you. It's the smiles on the faces of the performers as they look out from the stage over the most beautiful landscape their songs and melodies have ever echoed across. It is the meticulous, almost anal-retentive, organization of the event that somehow translates to a vibe conducive to dancing and singing and a passionately laid-back attitude from some of the most fervent music lovers anywhere.

  • There weren’t a lot of eighteen to twenty-five year olds crammed into the Boulder Theater on Monday night, but then again The Black Crowes have been around longer than most of those kids have. No, The Crowes attract a pretty specific crowd: twenty-five to forty-five in groups of couples or bros who like their Rock & Roll loud and visceral. No Day-Glo or glow-sticks or light up glasses, just a sea of faded dungarees, plaid, tall boots and short skirts with tights. The last generation of Rock & Roll.

From The Mayor of Telluride, Mr. Sam Bush, to up-and-comers, Lake Street Dive, the music was top notch from morning till night. Was it all about the banjo? No. Was it all about music? No. Telluride Bluegrass is an experience and the best word to describe it is "legendary."
