The Revivalists – June 10th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

The Red Rocks faithful were treated to a NOLA take-over of sorts Friday night. After a limited capacity show last summer, The Revivalists made their triumphant return to live music’s greatest playground, and they brought Preservation Hall Jazz Band with them! The big easy was in full representation! Rounding out the bill was The Ghosts of Paul Revere who got to make their Red Rocks debut as they crisscross the county on what appears to be their final tour as a band.

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats – December 17th – Mission Ballroom

While it is billed as “the 6th annual 10th annual holiday shows” and Nathaniel Rateliff himself admitted from the stage of the Mission he couldn’t remember how many of his holiday shows had gone down over the years, I know that back in 2013 I was at the first holiday show to feature The Night Sweats and since then, I’ve been hooked.

Beck – July 11th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Energy was high as fans made their way into the hallowed confines of Red Rocks on Tuesday. There was an electricity in the air even before the legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band took the stage to warm up the crowd. Beck was in the house and everyone was on pins and needles in anticipation of what this musical chameleon would bring to the stage. While a light rain threatened to dampen spirits early on, the faithful were not to be deterred and only a few minutes after the music started, the rain drops faded into a memory!

A Saturday night, perfect Colorado weather, and a diverse, mini festival lineup at the greatest venue on the planet. It doesn’t get much better. After strong sets from Preservation Hall and Drive-By Truckers, Yonder Mountain String Band took the stage. Colorado Bluegrass fans, get back on the Yonder train! This band is tight!

Telluride Blues & Brews Festival – September 15th – Telluride (Part 3)

Telluride Blues & Brews has grown from a niche, genre specific festival to one of the countries most well respected destination festivals. It has steadily gained recognition and the lineups are well thought out and hard hitting. If you are a lover of Blues based music, Funk, Soul, Rock, and Jazz then this is the festival for you. Congrats to Steve Gumbel on 20 years of realizing a vision, and thank you to Bill Kight, Courtney McClarey and the rest of the SBG Productions crew for making it all happen. We will see you next year, rain or shine.
