SnowBall Music Festival – April 5th – Sports Authority Field

Estimated read time 6 min read

Despite gray skies and the threat of rain, day two of SnowBall Music Festival saw a fired up crowd ready to soak in a diverse lineup of bands, MCs, and DJs at Sports Authority Field. The double feature of The Floozies and Manic Focus at the Bluebird Theater last Friday night led to a sold out show thanks to some last minute promoting by the GriZ family. There were few in the audience that had 21+ wristbands, which isn’t strange for these wompadelic shows. We all know that EDM is the outlet for the Y generation; however, this show brought even the youngest of the Z generation crawling to the front of the stage. Flat brimmed hats and glittered eyes were the staple of this evening’s attire.

As frost began to creep it’s way onto the inside of the Ogden’s glass doors at the entrance, Smith and his band took the stage for the hometown crowd.

Robert Walter’s 20th Congress – August 17th – The Fox Theatre

Estimated read time 4 min read

With Pretty Lights at Red Rocks and The Arise Festival in Loveland, Boulder felt like a ghost town. That didn’t stop those in attendance at The Fox Theater from taking in a night of Soul, Funk, and Jazz from keyboard master Robert Walter and openers Fox Street Allstars. While it was a bit of a disappointment to walk into an empty room, things did fill up a bit and it was nice to enjoy the impeccable sound at The Fox without being slammed in shoulder to shoulder with other sweaty music fans.
