Union Driftwood, the ever-fascinating Colorado native band, is just picking up their pace. The band debuted in 2011, and even though members have shifted, the current line-up seems to be taking them in the right direction. As a band, they play because they need to. For them it’s more than a hobby, or a passion, it’s true love. Union Driftwood will perform from 4:30 until 5:15 at Park House this Saturday, August 1st.

Michael Hornbuckle and his band have found increasing success in Blues, Rock and Soul-style music since they released their first CD in 1998. Over the last 17 years, the Michael Hornbuckle Band has played a number of esteemed venues and opened for artists like The Allman Brothers, Ted Nugent, and Def Leppard. Their most recent CD, ‘Virtue and Vice,’ earned the title “Best Self-Produced CD” from the Mile High Blues Society!

Kinfolk Celebration – September 19 & 20, 2014 – Planet Bluegrass

This summer, Kauffman, Aijala and Johnston have joined forces with nearly everyone, and this year’s Kinfolk Celebration only solidified this notion, bringing in the fall season with a BANG. Marking the 1-year anniversary of the devastating flooding that took place in the Front Range last September, this year’s Kinfolk brought us hours of original tunes, impressive renditions and one-of-a-kind collaborations, and proved that our local community is stronger than ever.

Yonder Mountain String Band – April 18th – Breckenridge Ski Resort

Last Friday, high on a mid-mountain hilltop, we witnessed what would turn out to be Yonder Mountain String Band’s last performance with all its original members. Playing classic tunes and favorite jams, YMSB provided us with a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Sun, snow and songs, so beloved, made for a memorable day in commemorating the closing of this chapter for one of our very favorite Bluegrass bands.

Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters – July 10th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Phish – September 2, 3, & 4 – Dick’s Sporting Goods Park

Phish landed in Colorado last Friday and threw an amazing three day party at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Northwest Denver. With a Friday night show that featured 26 songs that started with the letter “S,” a rock-n-roll packed night Saturday, and a stunning Sunday night filled with groove based jams, Phish gave it their all and left many phans speechless.
