EOTO – December 13th – Ogden Theatre

Estimated read time 6 min read

EOTO’s performance art and 3D spectacle of the year, Outer Orbit, concluded in the city that helped them be who they are today. Debuting at the first Sonic Bloom, EOTO has built a large following since their 2006 coming out. Hailing from Colorado and California, the duo consists of The String Cheese Incident’s Michael Travis and Jason Hann and what they have created has pushed the creative limits of what seasoned musicians can think to do. Once again, the Ogden stage proved to be enough space for them to live out their fantasy.

Signal Path – Habitats

Estimated read time 4 min read

Follow the signals to the path. Thats what Habitats is all about. If you haven’t heard of Signal Path yet, it’s time to sit down for a listen. The Front Range-based band has built a name for themselves around Denver as a jazzy Electrofunk outfit and creates music by blending genres, live performance elements and electronic production. Technically, they are impressive–literally standing alone, without the need for vocals. Released on October 10, Habitats is the band’s most recent offering.

Conspirator – March 22nd – The Aggie Theater

Estimated read time 3 min read

Conspirator returned to the Aggie Theater for a Friday evening show that featured zero liquor sales and a modest crowd. Following recent transgressions, the Aggie was recently bared from selling liquor for five days. Unfortunately, as soon as many people saw these ominous signs on the doors they turned around and headed for nearby bars. Despite the lack of liquid courage in the venue, Conspirator’s wicked jams were enough to ignite a small contingent of newcomers and die hard Disco Biscuits fans.

LoHi Music Festival – August 4th – LoHi Neighborhood, Denver

Estimated read time 3 min read

Last Saturday, the LoHi Music Festival was held on 32nd Avenue in the heart of the LoHi neighborhood in Denver. The event was a smashing success by all measures, and judging by the smiles on the faces of music lovers everywhere I looked, it was well received by all who attended. This was the second year for the event and, wow did it grow fast! There were people as far as the eye could see from the main stage looking west on 32nd Avenue by the time Particle hit the stage with Michael Kang of The String Cheese Incident around six thirty.
