Spafford – November 9th – Ogden Theatre

Last Thursday night, Spafford kicked off a three night run in Colorado with a show at The Ogden Theatre. While they immediately put their considerable jamming prowess on display early on, the first set was not the fiery jam filled behemoth that they are known to unleash. That said, the band stepped things up in the second frame and dazzled the packed house with some wild jams, fun covers, and a special guest who really put some icing on the cake. These guys are on a tear and the stage is set for some big things in Colorado!

Soule Monde: A World Smashing Musical Story

In Latin “Sol” means “Sun.” In French “Monde” translates to “Earth.” In Vermontese Soule Monde (pronounced Sol-Leh Mon-Day) means drummer Russ Lawton and keyboardist Ray Paczkowski. In Haitian Creole “Soule Monde” translates to “smashed world,” which is exactly what will happen to yours when you hear this dynamic duo shatter conventional notions of Jazz, World-Beat, and Funk this Saturday at Cervantes’. Listen Up Denver! was curious as to how this group came to fruition and in chatting with Ray Paczkowski, a story began to emerge.
